Native American Festival
This passed weekend, I was lucky enough to catch a Native American Festival going on in Balboa Park. It was fascinating! My brother and myself are part Cherokee, so I think we both got a lot out of the event. There were vender booths everywhere selling all kind of things from pottery, art, jewelery, traditional weaponry and clothing, instruments, food, etc. I couldn't believe the variety of stuff that was available. I think my favorite part of the whole event was seeing all the traditional costumes and watching all the dancers doing different kinds of Native dances. I found that fascinating. They had groups from all age levels(tiny tots included!). I was really taken by a few of the costumes in particular and the man who seemed to be "the elder" of the event. He was just so interesting. I tried to get some good shots of him without being intrusive. All of the music that they danced to was live. Anyway, I got some cool pics. Enjoy.
