June 17th- Same Sex Marriages Legalized in California

Cam and I went to the County Clerks Office in San Marcos on June 17th to witness the first few same sex couples to get married. It was a really moving experience, but the press that was there really left me feeling awful. They were turning this beautiful moment for these couples into a circus! It was ridiculous! It made me really sad and angry for the couples who were getting married and their families and friends. There was no privacy. They were being hounded with cameras, microphones and video cameras shoved in their faces while they were trying to fill out paper work and during a few of the ceremonies. It was like watching lions stalk, hunt and feed on a zebra. Don't get me wrong, I have respect for the profession of journalism. I was an editor on my high school paper and I have friends in the business, but these people that were at the same sex marriages were rude and ruthless.

Anyway, on a happier note, here are some photos I got of that momentous, historical day. Enjoy.
