I got a chance to reconnect with an old friend in April. Kevin and I went to middle school and high school together, but lost touch for a few years. I also met his wonderful girlfriend, Kim when I reconnected with Kevin. What a great pair! Not only are they both wonderful people separately, but they make a truly genuine and admirable couple. They really bring out the good in each other and are perfect compliments to one another.
So, when I learned that they were graduating from UCSD this year, I was very excited for them. When they hired me to be their "personal photographer" to capture this time in their lives, I was ecstatic! The first shoot we did was their graduation portraits. I went to La Jolla to see the UCSD campus and take their photos in all of their special places. These two are very photogenic and their fabulous personalities jump out of the photos! Enjoy!
Both Kevin and Kim graduated as Mechanical Engineers from the Jacobs School of Engineering in UCSD. I found out that UCSD is basically a city of small sub universities all squished together.
Kevin and Kim are the tiny colored object at the bottom of this HUGE bear! I guess this bear is one of the icons of UCSD! I thought it was pretty cool!
I love this shot. Here is a little known fact about this shot. I found that I had to have Kevin jump about 2 seconds before I had Kim jump to get them both in the air. Since Kevin is 6'4" and Kim is not quite that tall, the timing was a little tricky! :)
After we were done on campus, Kevin and Kim asked to go to Torrey Pines Glider Port since it is a special place for them. I was happy to oblige, though taking photos on some of those cliffs became very interesting to say the least! :)
Kim has a great laugh. She is full of energy! She was shocked that I took a picture of her while she wasn't looking!
Kevin was always so painfully shy when I was friends with him. In getting to know him again, I have learned that he has REALLY come out of his shell. He was always a nice and wonderful person, but he has become so much more now. Also, with Kim, I have been able to see how sweet and attentive he is to her. It is really nice to see an old friend so happy.
Thanks for a wonderful time taking your poartraits. You guys make anything super fun!
